Imagine yourself on a quiet coastal road, the Atlantic on one side and small fields and dense hedgerows on the other. The bicycle is the ideal way to see Ireland and on our tours you have all the time in the world to see it for yourself. Our idea is to take the hassles but none of the adventure out of your holiday. Your bags are transferred by luggage van and the guide is always able to give you a lift if you want a break along the way.
You are free to do your own thing - to stop for hours in one quiet haven or to take a detour on some hidden road. While we can always point out longer routes, each day's cycling is typically designed to give you an appetite for the evening's entertainment rather than a marathon test. Our cycling tours are not a test of endurance or speed, but rather an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Ireland in a relaxed atmosphere and experience the warmth and welcome of the Irish people.
Sample Tour: Clare and the Burren Tour
The Burren has a maze of backroads with little traffic and fields of exotic flowers and cracked limestone. The county's greatest pride is in its traditional music, which means that most villages will have a range of sessions each night.
Sat - The meeting point for the tour is in the town of Ennis, which is very close to Shannon airport.
Sun - We start by heading west to the Atlantic Coast, and our hotel overlooking Spanish Point beach where the breakers roll in.
Mon - In the morning, we take a wandering backroad to the village of Lahinch. After lunch, we head for the Cliffs of Moher before descending in the evening to the nearby village of Doolin where the three pubs compete with each other for the best music.
Tues - We again have a detour loop in the morning, before taking to the stunning coast road in the afternoon and on to the seaside village of Ballyvaughan for two nights.
Wed - The village is in the heart of the Burren region, so there is a great variety of walking trips from our hotel.
Thurs - The road winds along the limestone escarpments of the Burren to Kinvara, another small west coast village hugging the jagged coastline.
Fri - On the last day, we circle the Turlough Lake at Mulloughmore before returning to Ennis for a final night of Jigs and Reels.
Sat - After breakfast you make your way home with a head full of memories
