Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Dublin Enjoy a Private Car transfer to your down town Dublin hotel. Relax after your journey. Perhaps enjoy a Horse and Carriage ride through some of Dublin's historic Georgian Squares or Walk through the Temple Bar area, which is fast becoming Dublin's Left Bank!
Day 2: Dublin City Tour Explore Dublin City, Highlights include Trinity College, Grafton Street, Dublin Castle, Temple Bar and St. Patrick's Cathedral. Stroll down Grafton Street, Dublin's premier shopping area. Visit St. Stephen's Green, Europe's oldest and most beautiful Georgian Square. And visit the Guinness Brewery at St. James' Gate.
Day 3: Galway Your rental car will be delivered to your hotel OR Meet your driver/Guide. Depart Dublin and drive to Galway City, where many artists and craftsmen are based from the west of Ireland. Galway has a number of excellent galleries and shops exhibiting and selling their work. The city is buzzing with street theatre, music, restaurants, great shops and pubs.
Day 4: Connemara Tour wonderful Connemara, the western region of County Galway, and one of Ireland's gaeltacht (Irish speaking) regions. Here the moorland landscape is dominated by the Twelve Bens Mountains and fringed by a deeply indented coastline. The area around Leenane and Cong is where the movie 'The Quiet Man' was made with Wayne and O'Hara. There is a number of charming fishing villages dotted along the coast where you may wish to stop for lunch.
Day 5: Clare Visit the Cliffs of Moher, which stretch dramatically 700 feet above the Atlantic. We recommend a stop at Ailwee Cave to see the underground river and waterfall. Explore the lunar like Burren region, famous for its unique flora and fauna, geology and archaeology.
Day 6: Killarney Drive to the Gap of Dunloe, see Kate Kearney's Cottage and Muckross House. Visit the lakes of Killarney situated in Killarney National Park. Lough Leane, the largest of the Lakes of Killarney has approximately 30 islands nestled in its waters. Perhaps the best general view of the lake may be had from Aghadoe.
Day 7: Dingle Take a tour of the spectacular Dingle Peninsula featuring Slea Head and the Connor Pass.
Day 8: Shannon: Transfer to Shannon Airport for your flight back to the U.S.
