Dublin Aircoach - Dublin Airport to Downtown on the Cheap
We often get asked, "Should I rent a car at the airport or when I leave Dublin?" We typically recommend renting the car
when you leave Dublin to save on the rental, insurance, parking and of course navigating Dublin.
The next question is, "How do I get to my hotel in Dublin?"
The quickest, most direct way to get downtown is via taxi however the cost runs about €30 each way and depends on traffic. With
early-morning flights, I've taken a taxi to the airport for this amount and it was a mere 20 minutes door-to-door. Doing this
roundtrip can add an expense to any trip, especially for two people traveling. A few more folks to split the cost of a taxi and it
becomes affordable.
The cheapest way to get to downtown Dublin from the airport is the Aircoach,
a bus system that loops the airport to many downtown Dublin hotels for a very low cost. Stops include: Drumcondra (for Croke Park)
